“Baseball America” 2011 Draft Update

The talk preseason was about how UConn was a team that possessed two sure-fire first round picks on its roster.

Baseball America just released their Midseason Top-50 for the 2011 MLB Draft, and sure enough George Springer and Matt Barnes are right at the top of the list:

Adam enters his sixth season with the Thunder in 2018 after joining the the organization in 2013 as the Broadcast & Media Relations Assistant, was promoted to the Broadcasting & Media Relations Manager in 2014 and was named Director of Broadcasting at the end of the 2016 season. A lifelong resident of Franklin, Mass. and 2011 graduate of the University of Connecticut, Giardino returns home to broadcast college athletics in New England during the fall and winter months. He has provided play-by-play for Dartmouth College football since 2015 after spending the previous two football seasons filling-in as a sideline reporter for home and away games on the UMass Radio Network. In addition to his role with Dartmouth football, Giardino also broadcasts various sports for Dartmouth, Harvard, Brown, Northeastern and Holy Cross. Before joining the Thunder, Adam was with the Lakewood BlueClaws (Single-A, Philadelphia Phillies) where he was the Media and Public Relations Assistant in 2012 and a Public Relations and Broadcast Intern for the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, Boston Red Sox) during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. As an undergraduate, he provided four years of play-by-play on 91.7 FM WHUS covering 10 different UConn varsity programs. As WHUS Sports Director in 2010-2011 he had the opportunity to broadcast the 2011 Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz., the women's basketball [then] record-setting 90-game win streak, the baseball team advancing to the Super Regionals led by World Series MVP George Springer and the men's basketball run to the 2011 National Championship in Houston, Texas.
